Check out the new Smile white paper: Android for embedded systems
Smile is publishing a new white paper today, focussing on Android for embedded systems.
The white paper provides a critical analysis of Android use in embedded systems.
The advantages and limits of Google’s key operating system have been examined by our specialists Pierre Ficheux and Cédric Ravalec (respectively Technical Director and Manager for Embedded Systems & IoT).
This white paper contains:
- A reminder of the underlying principles of embedded systems, followed by a report on the cases in which Android can be used to replace “Embedded Linux”, which featured in a previous white paper published by Smile.
- A technical section reveals how to compile and adapt Android, in the form of case studies.
- The last chapter is devoted to current and future markets for Android application in industry and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Our experts will be rounding off the analysis of Android in connected objects with a mini white paper focussing on Android Things as soon as the code is available. Watch this space! Stay tuned
